NAAC grants A+ to Kashmir University

University of Kashmir was awarded with grade A+ by National Assessment and accreditation Council (NAAC) on Monday with the Institutional Cumulative Grade Point average CGPA of 3.31 on a scale of 4, ahead of many leading Indian universities.
During the last two turns of 2002 and 2011 the University has been accredited with grade A and the next visit of NAAC was delayed in 2016 during the unrest in valley.
Apart from CGPA 3.31, University of Kashmir has scored 3.67 in circular aspects, 3.18 in teaching- learning-evaluation, 3.5 in research, innovations and extension, 3.89 in infrastructure and learning resources, 2.94 in student support and progression, 3.1 in governance, leadership and management and 3.61 in institutional values and best practices.
NAAC is the autonomous body that grades the Universities at national level. NAAC visited Kashmir University during first week of May from 2 to 4 May, and announced the result here on Monday, 20 of May.
Students were seen happy over the University getting A+ garde.
“We are hopeful that the University will provide more scholarships schemes and there will be some relaxation in fee” said a student of political science department.
