“World No Tobacco Day” was today celebrated at GBMS Gawas under this year’s theme “Protect the environment”
GBMS Gawas and Primary School Gawas organised an awareness rally in which a large number of students and teachers took part.
The rally started from GBMS Gawas to Primary School Gawas here with students displaying banners and holding placards to draw attention to adverse effects of tobacco use.
The rally was aimed to focus on multiple ways in which tobacco affects people’s health worldwide which includes lungs cancer, mouth cancer, heart disease and blood circulation problems.

Fayaz Ahamad Hajam a teacher on the occasion said that “Jammu and Kashmir has six lakh people affected by drug-related issues and 90 per cent of the drug addicts belong to the age group of 17-33 years, according to an official report. He stressed on need to aware about it’s alarming effects. ”
“Teachers and parents have a great role to look upon their children and monitor them continuously and ensure their safety” He added
